Placebo kommen auf Tour
Placebo feiern 20-jähriges Jubiläum ihres Debüt-Albums „Placebo“ und kommen aus diesem Anlass auf eine ausgedehnte „20 Years of Placebo World Tour 2016/17“. Die Band hat sich mit Ticketmaster zusammengetan und ermöglicht ihren Fans einen exklusiven Presale. 48 Stunden lang, vom Mittwoch, den 16. März (10 Uhr) bis Freitag, den 18. März, werden die Tickets über die Band-Webseite APLACEFORUSTODREAM.com angeboten. Ohne Passwortschutz, und offen für alle (d.h. man muss kein Fanclub Mitglied sein oder auf eine Mail mit Zugangscodes warten, sondern kann sofort zugreifen!).
Kick off für die ersten Termine der Placebo Tour 2016 ist im Oktober in Dänemark, Abschluss ist in der Londoner Wembley Arena Mitte Dezember. Die deutschen Termine in Hamburg, Köln, München, Leipzig, Berlin, Frankfurt und Stuttgart sind für Oktober und November geplant, auch das Wiener Konzert ist im November. Für 2017 will die Band weitere weltweite Termine bekannt geben.
Die Setlist der Tour soll laut Brian Molko alle Hits aus der gesamten Bandgeschichte enthalten:
“Let’s just say there will be songs in the set that I’ve sworn never to play again. I think it’s time that we purposefully acknowledged what a lot of Placebo fans really want to hear. They’ve been very patient with us since we rarely play our most commercially successful material. A 20 year anniversary tour seems like the right time to do so. That’s our intention. This tour is very much for the fans and a chance for us to revisit a lot of our early material. So, if you want to see us play songs like ‚Pure Morning’ and ‚Nancy Boy’ which we haven’t played in almost ten years and may not play again, then you’d better come along to these shows! We’ll have some surprises in there too.“
