Adele räumt bei den Grammys ab
Letzte Nacht fand in Los Angeles die 59. Grammy-Preisverleihung statt und die Abräumerin des Abends war Adele. Die Grammys sind der bedeutendste Preis der US-amerikanischen Musikindustrie und von ihrer Wichtigkeit her mit dem Academy Award – besser bekannt als „Oscar“ – vergleichbar. Die Verleihung im Staples Center hatte viele Höhepunkte zu bieten und im Blog zeigen wir euch, was los war.
Adele gewinnt gleich drei Grammys
Superstar Adele war in den wichtigen Kategorien „Album des Jahres“, „Single des Jahres“ und „Song des Jahres“ nominiert und gewann alle drei und konnte damit ihre schärfste Konkurrentin Beyoncé auf die Plätze verweisen. Doch es gab keinerlei Zwist – im Gegenteil: Bei ihrer Dankesrede zum Album des Jahres, Adeles „25“, ehrte die britische Sängerin mit zitternder Stimme ihr Vorbild Beyoncé mit folgenden Worten:
“I can’t possibly accept this award. And I’m very humbled and very grateful and gracious but my artist of my life is Beyoncé, and this album for me, the „Lemonade“ album, Beyoncé, was so monumental, and so well thought out. And so beautiful and soul bearing and we all got to see another side of you that you don’t always let us see, and we appreciate that. And all us artists here adore you. You are our light. And the way that you make me and my friends feel, the way you make my black friends feel is empowering, and you make them stand up for themselves. And I love you. I always have. And I always will.”
Doch damit nicht genug, anschließend zerbrach Adele ihren Grammy – ein goldenes Grammophon – in zwei Teile, um die eine Hälfte an Superstar Beyoncé abzugeben. Eine Geste, die für viel Aufsehen sorgte. Die schwangere Beyoncé gewann immerhin in den Kategorien „Best Urban Contemporary Album“ für „Lemonade“ und „Bestes Musikvideo“ für „Formation“ und auch ihr Live-Auftritt wurde bejubelt.

Metallica treten mit Lady Gaga auf
Die Metal-Giganten Metallica holten sich für ihre Liveperformance Unterstützung von Lady Gaga, die eine Woche zuvor beim Super Bowl auftrat und auf ihrer „Joanne World Tour“ für drei Shows nach Deutschland kommt. Mit dem Song „Moth into Flame“ von Metallicas aktuellem Album „Hardwired… to Self-Destruct“ konnten sie das Publikum bei den Grammys begeistern.
